Wesley was born and raised around the beaches and streams in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. This fostered a strong connection to the local ecosystems and watersheds; he has volunteered with Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Pacific Streamkeepers for two decades
Wesley has a background in green architecture, is a LEED certified architectural technician and worked primarily in Vancouver. Wesley is pursuing a Master’s degree in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University. He will research how the creation of a sense of place and place-based education impacts the ecological awareness of students and community members through the rehabilitation of anthropogenic damage to natural environments and watersheds. Wesley’s research is partially supported by the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant (Wolfe).
In his limited spare time, Wesley is often found outdoors with his wife and two young sons fishing, birdwatching, and occasionally on a motorcycle.
